Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva expressed sadness over a young biker’s death in a Delhi Jal Board pit in Janakpuri. He criticized AAP leaders, including former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, for politicizing the tragedy. Sachdeva condemned the statements made by Kejriwal and Saurabh Bharadwaj, likening their behavior to that of political vultures.
He called on Kejriwal and Bharadwaj to take responsibility for the nearly 100 deaths in 2024 due to electrocution or drowning during the monsoon month under the previous AAP-led Delhi government. The Delhi BJP extended support to the deceased youth’s family, with Palam BJP MLA Kuldeep Solanki providing care during the youth’s treatment and participating in his cremation.
Regarding the accident, Sachdeva highlighted the Delhi government’s alertness following a recent youth’s death in Noida. He mentioned a circular issued by the DJB on January 24, mandating proper barricades at excavation sites. Sachdeva emphasized that those responsible for any accidents would face consequences as per the circular.
In another development, Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra praised the Union Budget for focusing on national economic growth and the rights of youth, women, the poor, and farmers. He noted provisions for the Delhi–Varanasi high-speed railway corridor and a significant budget allocation for road transport infrastructure to ease traffic congestion in Delhi.
Malhotra mentioned plans for road networks like the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway and the Delhi–Katra Expressway. He highlighted the Rs 24,000 crore budget under the Delhi Decongestion Plan, including a tunnel near Shivmurti for vehicles entering Delhi from Gurugram and improved connectivity for traffic from Katra to Delhi via the airport.
