Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticized the Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi Convener Saurabh Bharadwaj for his handling of the tragic fire incident in Uttam Nagar. Sachdeva condemned Bharadwaj’s actions at a condolence meeting and press conference, accusing him of using the situation for personal gain rather than showing genuine concern for the victims.
Sachdeva highlighted the Delhi government’s initiation of a magisterial inquiry into the fire incident in Palam, focusing on investigating the root causes of the fire and any potential negligence by the Fire Brigade during rescue operations. He emphasized the importance of addressing both deficiencies in fire brigade infrastructure and the presence of flammable materials that may have contributed to the severity of the blaze.
The Delhi BJP President challenged Bharadwaj to explain his silence on the issue of flammable materials stored in the building where the fire occurred, questioning why he did not take moral responsibility and resign as Health Minister following a previous fire incident.
