Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticized AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for calling the ED raid on Punjab AAP President Sanjeev Arora a political conspiracy. Sachdeva suggested that Kejriwal’s nervous demeanor during the press conference hinted at his potential involvement in the investigation, linking him to the alleged extortion scheme.
Sachdeva drew parallels between the arrest of Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora in a money-laundering case and the corruption scandals that plagued the AAP’s governance in Delhi. He highlighted instances where key AAP members faced legal repercussions due to corrupt practices during their rule.
Pointing fingers at Kejriwal, Sachdeva accused the AAP of fostering corruption in Punjab, similar to the alleged scams in Delhi involving liquor contractors. He alleged a pattern of corruption in Punjab, citing instances of cash bundles found during recent ED raids on individuals associated with the Punjab Chief Minister.
Sachdeva noted that the arrest of Sanjeev Arora was not an isolated case, mentioning previous corruption-related arrests of AAP ministers and officials in Punjab. The ongoing ED raids in Punjab, following the Bengal elections, were criticized by Kejriwal as part of a targeted harassment campaign by PM Modi, according to Sachdeva’s statements.
