Delhi BJP President, Virendra Sachdeva, has voiced disapproval of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s decision to write a letter to Delhi High Court’s Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, suggesting a lack of faith in the judiciary. Kejriwal expressed his refusal to personally appear before Justice Sharma or through legal representation in connection to the alleged Delhi Excise Policy case, citing a loss of confidence in the judge and a commitment to “Satyagraha” inspired by Mahatma Gandhi.
Sachdeva criticized Kejriwal, highlighting that as a three-time Chief Minister of Delhi who pledged to uphold the Constitution, Kejriwal’s actions now undermine the very principles he swore to protect, seemingly motivated by fear of facing consequences for corruption. He emphasized that Kejriwal exhausted legal avenues, including the Supreme Court, before resorting to writing another letter to the judge, breaching decorum and propriety.
Sachdeva further accused Kejriwal of resorting to political theatrics in the liquor scam case, crossing ethical boundaries by casting personal doubts on the judge after losing the legal battle in the Delhi High Court. He urged Kejriwal to respect constitutional and judicial processes instead of engaging in disruptive behavior.
