Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the Cabinet has given the green light to crucial proposals concerning the Ad-Hoc Monthly Relief (AMR) scheme for 1,832 Jammu & Kashmir migrant families residing in the city.
The scheme will be applicable solely to registered Jammu & Kashmir migrant families who have already received relief by March 31, 2024. Chief Minister Gupta emphasized the BJP government’s dedication to the welfare, rehabilitation, and social security of these families by eliminating income-related eligibility criteria for relief provision.
To facilitate the smooth execution of the scheme in 2026-27, a budgetary allocation of Rs 30 crore has been earmarked by the government. The administration aims to ensure that all eligible Jammu & Kashmir migrant families face no obstacles in availing relief benefits, which will be granted based on existing regulations and limited to four family members.
Under the One-Time Amnesty Scheme, migrant families will have the opportunity to update beneficiary records and Aadhaar details to ensure accuracy. Any excess relief received earlier due to errors will not be reclaimed during this process. The primary goal is to rectify government records to ensure that future relief reaches deserving families without disruptions.
