Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal urged Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Haryana to execute Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a clean and developed India. He emphasized implementing Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 projects efficiently to enhance cleanliness, urban management, and quality of life in cities.

During a state-level review meeting, the Minister stressed the importance of cities becoming models of efficient urban governance and sustainable development. He highlighted the need for Haryana to lead by example for other states in the country. Minister Manohar Lal emphasized the transformation of cleanliness into a nationwide movement under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

He directed officials to set clear project timelines and ensure high-quality execution. The meeting included a comprehensive review of various urban development and sanitation initiatives, such as solid waste management, sewerage systems, and toilet infrastructure. The Minister encouraged healthy competition among ULBs to meet the 166 benchmarks of Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0.

Union Minister Manohar Lal instructed all Urban Local Bodies to conduct a thorough survey of private, community, and public toilets by June 30. He emphasized the importance of ensuring access to adequate toilet facilities in households, markets, parks, and public places. The Minister also called for third-party surveys where necessary to ensure accurate assessments and effective planning.
