The Delhi Capitals have shown remarkable adaptability in bouncing back from losses, a key factor in their resurgence in the 2026 WPL, according to former New Zealand player Katey Martin. Following a strategic shift post the Navi Mumbai leg, the team has climbed to second place on the points table, with their bowling unit leading the charge. Notably, they halted the winning streak of Royal Challengers Bengaluru with a disciplined performance.

Martin highlighted the Capitals’ ability to learn and evolve, emphasizing their strategic adjustments post the Navi Mumbai leg. She praised bowler Nandni Sharma for her crucial role in the team’s plans, especially in taking wickets during critical junctures. The team’s approach of not losing to the same opponent twice this season underscores their adaptability and growth mindset.

Katey Martin commended DC skipper Jemimah Rodrigues for her proactive leadership and effective communication with the bowling unit. She particularly noted Rodrigues’ tactical acumen in setting the field and making bowling changes, which played a pivotal role in restricting RCB to 109 runs on a challenging pitch. Rodrigues’ strategic decision to open with Chinelle Henry instead of the usual Marizanne Kapp showcased her bold captaincy style and ability to make crucial game-time decisions.

The former cricketer also highlighted Rodrigues’ energy and clear communication on the field, praising her for maintaining team balance and backing her bowlers’ plans. Martin observed a sense of calmness and confidence in Rodrigues’ captaincy, evident in the team’s improved coordination and performance under pressure.
