In a recent development within the AAP, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Cabinet Minister Parvesh Verma criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly squandering public money on his former official residence, known as “Sheesh Mahal.” Gupta accused Kejriwal of betraying the party’s initial revolutionary ideals, claiming that only corrupt individuals remain in the AAP now. She also hinted at a potential downfall of the party in Punjab following the exodus of Rajya Sabha MPs.
Verma raised the issue of corruption surrounding the luxurious amenities installed at Kejriwal’s former residence, showcasing extravagant features like a Rs 1.5 crore kitchen, Rs 95 lakh switches, Rs 88 lakh chandelier, and a Rs 28 lakh TV. He criticized Kejriwal for allegedly misusing public funds on opulent items while projecting a modest image to the public. Verma released a video titled “Dhurandhar PART 3” to highlight these allegations.
Accusing Kejriwal of deceptive practices, Verma pointed out the discrepancy between Kejriwal’s public persona and his alleged extravagant lifestyle, which included expensive silk carpets, bathroom fittings, and marble flooring. He emphasized that Kejriwal’s ostensible simplicity, symbolized by his Rs 2 pen and oversized clothes, was a facade to conceal his purported corruption. The criticism from the Chief Minister and her Cabinet Minister coincides with AAP Rajya Sabha MPs, led by Raghav Chadha, defecting to the BJP, citing a departure from ethical politics.
