Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, attended the inauguration of the redeveloped ‘Jan Seva Connect’ post office at Nehru Place. Gupta expressed gratitude towards the Union ministers and Department of Posts officials, emphasizing the significance of the initiative to modernize and revamp post offices nationwide. She highlighted the transformation of post offices into comprehensive public service hubs offering various facilities under one roof, including banking services, Aadhaar-related services, and digital amenities.
The Chief Minister praised the decision to renovate 25,000 post offices across India, attributing it to forward-thinking planning. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, post offices have transitioned from traditional service centers to versatile public service hubs. Gupta underscored the importance of the ‘Jan Seva Connect’ concept, aligning with PM Modi’s vision of citizen-centric governance and enhancing the overall experience for citizens through modernization efforts.
Gupta commended the enhancements in employee workspaces, seating arrangements, interiors, and customer service standards at post offices, emphasizing their integral role in India’s societal framework. She lauded the government’s commitment to revitalizing the post office network through technology and contemporary services, citing it as a testament to visionary and empathetic leadership. The Chief Minister expressed optimism that the revamped post offices would emerge as robust centers offering modern amenities, digital services, and enhanced public outreach in the future. She also pledged full cooperation from the Delhi government to ensure widespread access to these services and benefit a larger populace.
