Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta commended the increasing public involvement in the Yamuna clean-up initiative at Chhath Ghat near ITO. She highlighted that the cleanliness of the Yamuna has evolved into a people’s movement from a government project. Emphasizing the river’s significance as the eternal lifeline of faith, culture, and civilization, she lauded the active engagement of citizens, youth, and the Yamuna Task Force personnel.

The Chief Minister, speaking at an event by the Culture Youth Foundation, expressed admiration for the Foundation’s volunteers and the inspiring participation of citizens and youth in the cleanliness campaign. She stressed the pivotal role of youth in driving social and environmental change, noting the growing public awareness and commitment evident in the significant turnout even on weekends.

Reiterating the symbolic importance of the Yamuna to the nation’s heritage, Chief Minister Gupta underscored that maintaining its cleanliness and flow is a collective moral obligation towards future generations. She disclosed that the Delhi government is executing the Yamuna clean-up drive meticulously and scientifically, focusing on silt disposal, waste management, sewage treatment, and monitoring systems for the river’s rejuvenation.

Highlighting the necessity of collaborative efforts between society and government for sustainable change, the Chief Minister pledged full government support for public engagement-based environmental initiatives. She urged citizens to uphold continuous awareness, discipline, and participation to ensure a clean and empowered Delhi symbolized by a pristine Yamuna.
