On the eve of International Women’s Day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the crucial role of empowered women in building a prosperous society and a developed India. She demonstrated the Saheli Pink National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) on a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus, highlighting its convenience for women in the city. The NCMC card allows for easy and free travel on DTC buses by simply tapping the card on the machine to record the journey instantly.
The Chief Minister encouraged women to avail themselves of the free Saheli Pink NCMC card by registering with their Aadhaar number and mobile number. She underscored the Delhi government’s commitment to public transport by significantly increasing the budget allocation for the Transport Department in the 2025–26 Budget. With a provision of Rs 9,110 crore, a substantial rise from the previous year’s allocation, the government aims to enhance public transport services in the city.
Attending an event at Delhi University’s Ramjas College to commemorate International Women’s Day, Chief Minister Gupta participated in the Women Power Conference organized by the Vanvasi Kalyan Seva Samiti. She praised the pivotal role of women in Indian culture, emphasizing their contribution to empowerment, societal progress, and nation-building. Acknowledging the efforts towards women-led development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, she highlighted the government’s initiatives for the holistic development and empowerment of women in Delhi.
