Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta traveled on the Delhi Metro to an event in Lajpat Nagar, encouraging citizens to use public transport to reduce pollution from private vehicles. During her journey on the Magenta Line, she interacted with commuters, young children sought her blessings, and she commended passengers for choosing public transport to combat pollution.

CM Gupta expressed appreciation for the cleanliness, punctuality, and safety of the Delhi Metro and emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening public transport. She highlighted the importance of ensuring that public transport is convenient, safe, and trustworthy for all passengers, aiming to make the journey seamless and efficient.

Reflecting on the inauguration of the Delhi Metro by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 24, 2002, the Chief Minister paid tribute to Vajpayee’s vision for modern governance and urban development through the Metro project. She underscored the Metro’s role in shaping a green and effective public transport system for Delhi, aligning with Vajpayee’s forward-thinking approach.
