Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her government of failing to maintain law and order. Gupta stated that people in West Bengal are determined to remove the Trinamool Congress from power in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at an event in Kolkata, Gupta condemned the alleged mistreatment of women and what she termed as a “politics of hooliganism” under Banerjee’s leadership. She expressed confidence that the upcoming elections would bring a positive change in the state.
Gupta, who was in Kolkata for a BJP event, also raised concerns about infiltration in West Bengal, accusing the state administration of protecting infiltrators. She emphasized that the people have decided for change, indicating a shift in power dynamics in the state.
The Trinamool Congress responded strongly to Gupta’s remarks, highlighting recent crime incidents in Delhi and questioning her criticism. The party pointed out incidents such as a recent blast, rising pollution levels, and crimes against women in the national capital, countering Gupta’s allegations.
