Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, in alignment with PM Narendra Modi’s energy conservation call, transitioned to virtual meetings to discuss monsoon preparations, Atal Canteens, and Arogya Mandirs. She urged officials to conduct most government meetings online to save fuel, time, and resources. Gupta emphasized reducing electricity consumption, promoting energy-saving practices, and fostering a responsible work culture.
She instructed departments to cut fuel expenses by at least 20% on official vehicles and encouraged the ‘Metro Monday’ initiative for government officers and employees to use public transport weekly. Gupta also mandated the implementation of ‘No Vehicle Day’ once a week. Inspections in various areas, including Atal Canteens and Arogya Mandirs, were highlighted to ensure proper maintenance and improvement.
The Chief Minister focused on monsoon preparedness, directing officials to identify and address waterlogging-prone areas promptly. Gupta stressed the importance of closing drains and removing hazardous trees before the rainy season to prevent public inconvenience. Officials were tasked with expediting Piped Natural Gas connections and aiding the public accordingly.
Gupta emphasized transparency by urging officials to share work updates and corrective measures on social media. She aimed to transform PM Modi’s ‘Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdan’ campaign into a widespread public movement driven by citizen participation. The Delhi government’s commitment lies in ensuring transparent communication and efficient governance.
