Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta introduced a new digital platform to enhance transparency in school admissions for Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Group (DG), and Children With Special Needs (CWSN) categories. The platform aims to reduce human intervention and ensure fair access to education. It replaces an outdated system with a secure, cloud-based solution, following a thorough security audit.
To prevent fraud and duplication, the platform mandates Aadhaar-based identity verification and digital verification of birth certificates. Income certificates will be directly verified online, minimizing malpractice opportunities. The initiative seeks to streamline the admission process, making it transparent, efficient, and free from intermediaries. Eligibility will be digitally verified, and seat allocation will be automated.
The new system will eliminate the need for multiple forms and prevent middlemen from manipulating admissions. By incorporating Aadhaar linkage, online applications, and digital document verification, the process will become transparent and swift. Parents will receive real-time updates on their application status, reducing corruption and delays. The initiative also includes integrating e-District services with the Common Service Centre (CSC) network to provide various government services locally.
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood highlighted the development of a digital portal for EWS, DG, and CWSN categories to ensure transparency and prevent irregularities in admissions. The government allocates significant funds annually for these categories, emphasizing the importance of reaching the rightful beneficiaries. Additionally, the government has introduced the CM Jan Sunwai Portal and app for citizens to lodge and track complaints online, enhancing governance transparency and efficiency.
