Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to enhance the integrity and transparency of the examination system. In a video message on social media platform X, Chief Minister Gupta emphasized the importance of fairness and transparency for India’s youth. She highlighted the government’s commitment to safeguarding students’ aspirations through significant reforms, including stringent actions against paper leaks and a more reliable examination system.
Chief Minister Gupta expressed support for the government’s vision to empower young Indians by providing expanded educational opportunities, supporting startups and innovation, and strengthening the nation’s future. She lauded Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, citing a consistent track record of reform, delivery, and decisive governance. The government’s upcoming landmark Bill on examination reforms, along with measures such as fast-track courts and stricter penalties for paper leak mafias, aims to boost student and parent confidence while reinforcing the examination system’s integrity.
Prime Minister Modi recently announced the formation of a task force on exam reforms led by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani. The task force’s recommendations will guide future steps to ensure the credibility of forthcoming examinations. Nilekani, known for his role in creating the Aadhaar number system, joins a team that includes experts like former ISRO Chairman S. Somnath, former IB Director Tapan Deka, IIT Chennai Director V. Kamakoti, former Education Secretary Anita Karwal, and Logistics Expert Amrit Lal Meena. This move follows a students’ protest against alleged paper leaks, culminating in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
