New Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday visited Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Mayur Vihar Phase-II and interacted with patients and their attendants, seeking feedback on the healthcare facilities and services being provided at the hospital.

During the visit, the Chief Minister listened to the experiences, suggestions and expectations shared by patients and their families. She said that direct interaction with citizens plays a crucial role in understanding ground-level issues and improving the healthcare system.

The Chief Minister emphasised that public engagement is the foundation of an effective and responsive healthcare framework, adding that the concerns and feedback of patients must remain central to efforts aimed at strengthening medical services in Delhi.

During her inspection, Rekha Gupta reviewed various aspects of the hospital’s functioning, including cleanliness standards, availability of medicines and the overall quality of healthcare services. She also took stock of the facilities available for patients and interacted with hospital staff to understand operational challenges.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to ensure that necessary improvements are implemented without delay. She stressed the need for timely action to address shortcomings and improve the overall experience of patients visiting government healthcare facilities.

Rekha Gupta reiterated that the confidence and trust of every patient are of utmost importance to the Delhi government. She said the government remains committed to ensuring that every resident of the national capital receives timely, dignified and quality healthcare services.

The visit comes as part of the Delhi government’s efforts to strengthen public healthcare facilities through regular inspections, direct engagement with citizens and monitoring of service delivery at hospitals.

The Chief Minister said that healthcare institutions must provide not only medical treatment but also a supportive and respectful environment for patients and their attendants. She highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness, ensuring adequate availability of essential medicines and improving service standards to meet the expectations of Delhi residents.

The Delhi government has reiterated that improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring accessible medical services for all citizens remain among its key priorities.
