The Delhi government, under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has sanctioned a significant pay raise for vocational teachers and those involved in the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan program. This decision extends to teachers at Special Training Centres, aiding children reintegrate into the education system. Approximately 1,131 vocational teachers will now earn Rs 38,100 monthly, up from the previous Rs 20,000-Rs 23,000 range.
Salaries for teachers at 784 Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan centers have been increased from Rs 21,000 to Rs 35,420 per month. These centers focus on educating out-of-school children, preparing them for mainstream schooling. Chief Minister Gupta emphasized that this adjustment aligns Samagra Shiksha teachers’ pay with primary and upper primary teachers, acknowledging their dedication and hard work.
The salary revision aims to enhance teachers’ financial stability and boost their morale. Chief Minister Gupta stressed the vital role of motivated teachers in delivering quality education. The government’s priority is to ensure every child in Delhi is included in the education system, especially through Special Training Centres catering to children who have never attended school or dropped out.
