In response to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas directives, the Delhi government has increased the daily commercial LPG cylinder allocation in the National Capital Territory from 1,800 to 4,500 cylinders. This move aims to ensure a steady supply of LPG cylinders for essential services, hotels, industries, and migrant laborers without disruptions. Minister for Food & Supplies Manjinder Singh Sirsa mentioned that 70 teams are actively working against hoarders to maintain fair distribution.

The revised policy categorizes commercial LPG distribution into seven priority segments with specific daily quotas out of the total 4,500 cylinders. Essential services, government institutions, hotels, restaurants, industrial units, sports facilities, and migrant laborers each have designated cylinder allocations based on their requirements. The distribution strategy follows central guidelines, considering the average consumption of the past three months and prioritizing critical users to meet demand effectively.

To combat hoarding and black marketing practices, joint teams from the Weights & Measures and Food Supplies Departments are conducting surveys across the state. Strict actions are being taken against those involved in malpractices under relevant laws. Minister Sirsa reassured the public that the supply situation is under control, with normal operations through Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). He urged the residents not to believe or spread baseless rumors and emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted commercial LPG supply in coordination with suppliers and IGL.

Under the guidance of CM Rekha Gupta, the Delhi government is dedicated to providing reliable commercial LPG services to all sectors, including essential services, migrant workers, and commercial establishments. The government is adhering strictly to central guidelines to ensure fairness, transparency, and smooth operations in LPG distribution.
