The government body has requested re-entry and resumption of the club’s premises for defense infrastructure strengthening and public security purposes.
The Governing Council (GC) of the Delhi Gymkhana Club convened an emergency meeting following this development and decided to promptly respond to the L&DO. Seeking clarity on various issues concerning its members and employees, the club has also requested an urgent meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
In an official communication from the Secretary’s Office, signed by Officiating Secretary Rajesh Bhatnagar, the club’s top priority is ensuring uninterrupted operations without disruption. Emphasizing the protection of the interests of its members and staff, the club, established in 1913, plays a vital role for numerous individuals who rely on its services.
