Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu spearheaded the Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) 12th International Day of Yoga festivities held at 29 locations in the National Capital. The event saw a significant turnout with numerous citizens participating in Yoga sessions to promote well-being and active lifestyles.
The main Yoga event took place at Yamuna Sports Complex, where the Lieutenant Governor, also the DDA Chairman, was joined by Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra. N. Saravana Kumar, DDA’s Vice Chairman, and other officials and participants also graced the occasion, witnessing a strong showing of Yoga enthusiasts.
Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the DDA encouraged broad public engagement in Yoga activities across Delhi, emphasizing its benefits for physical, mental, and emotional health. This year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” highlighted the role of Yoga in fostering well-being across all age groups and promoting active and healthy aging.
Yoga sessions were conducted at various venues, including sports complexes like Siri Fort, Saket, and Vasant Kunj, among others, along with parks and green spaces across the city. These sessions, led by trained instructors from the Ministry of Ayush, featured Yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation, and wellness exercises, drawing participants from diverse backgrounds.
