Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu has called on residents and visitors in the National Capital to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent accidents, congestion, and pollution. Stressing the importance of collective efforts, Sandhu emphasized the need for a smooth and safe city environment. This appeal follows a recent tragic incident in east Delhi’s Karawal Nagar where two individuals lost their lives in a road accident involving a speeding car.

Sandhu, in a social media message, urged everyone in Delhi to cooperate with the traffic authorities to ensure a secure and well-managed traffic system. He highlighted that compliance with traffic rules not only minimizes accidents and traffic congestion but also contributes to reducing air pollution, benefiting the city and its inhabitants. The Lieutenant Governor underscored the critical connection between following traffic regulations and ensuring safety on the roads.

Emphasizing responsible road behavior, Sandhu urged citizens to avoid reckless driving practices such as driving in the wrong direction, disobeying traffic signals, and endangering lives while crossing roads. He emphasized the importance of proper vehicle parking, as well as the use of helmets and seat belts, not only for traffic efficiency but also for the safety of individuals. Sandhu also encouraged the public to report any traffic violations through the latest traffic police app, highlighting the significance of active participation in enhancing road safety measures.

In a bid to enhance road safety measures in the capital, Sandhu directed the Delhi Traffic Police to intensify enforcement efforts. He called on citizens to actively engage in this road safety campaign and report rule violations through the ‘Traffic Prahari’ app, with the opportunity to receive rewards for their vigilance. Sandhu expressed optimism that with a collective commitment to observing traffic rules, Delhi can transform into a congestion-free and safe city. He sought the cooperation and support of all residents in creating a well-managed and aesthetically pleasing capital.
