Delhi Lt Governor T.S. Sandhu recently met with experts from the School of Planning & Architecture (SPA) to discuss the redevelopment of the city’s transit corridors. Sandhu highlighted the aim to transform these corridors into green, pedestrian-friendly, and employment-oriented spaces operational round the clock. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for urban rejuvenation, focusing on tourism promotion, local consumption boost, and job creation.

Sandhu emphasized the need for strong cooperation and coordination among Delhi’s civic agencies to realize this ambitious project. He assured full support for examining the project’s feasibility and ensuring effective inter-agency coordination. The meeting with the SPA followed discussions with Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Power, Manohar Lal, regarding infrastructure issues in the national capital.

In a separate engagement, Sandhu met with Johannes Zutt, Vice President of the World Bank, at Lok Niwas. During the meeting, they discussed leveraging global expertise and enhancing partnerships across various sectors, including urban rejuvenation, education, sanitation, and skill development. Sandhu reiterated Delhi’s commitment to sustainable development and improving residents’ quality of life, echoing PM Modi’s vision for the city’s progress.
