The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the resumption of services at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat stations. This decision follows the temporary closure of 18 Metro stations in Central Delhi due to heightened security measures amidst student protests over NEET paper leaks. The DMRC stated that entry gates at the three aforementioned stations are now open for commuters.
Earlier, the DMRC had temporarily shut down several stations, including Lok Kalyan Marg, Patel Chowk, and Supreme Court, among others, due to security concerns related to the ongoing protests near Jantar Mantar. However, the entry and exit services at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat stations have been reinstated.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently resigned in the wake of nationwide demonstrations against examination irregularities. Pradhan expressed his deep concern over the situation and emphasized the need to prevent any exploitation by anti-national elements. His resignation was framed as a step to uphold the integrity of exams and safeguard the future of students.
