Delhi Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh commenced the construction of streets and drains in Prakash Vihar, Shahbad Extension-II, as part of a project funded by the Chief Minister Development Fund. With an investment of Rs18 crore, the initiative aims to enhance the drainage system and upgrade civic infrastructure for local residents. Singh emphasized the necessity for such developments due to longstanding civic challenges in the Bawana Assembly constituency.
The Minister highlighted the Delhi government’s commitment to addressing these issues by launching various development projects across the constituency. Singh expressed regret over the delayed development works in the past, stating that timely initiatives could have transformed the region. He assured that ongoing efforts seek to integrate all parts of Bawana into the broader spectrum of development, ensuring essential infrastructure reaches every corner.
Singh outlined the government’s vision to modernize Bawana Assembly constituency, providing essential services like water, electricity, roads, healthcare, education, and public safety to all villages. He noted a significant acceleration in the pace of development, with citizens already reaping the benefits. Additionally, Singh mentioned the recent foundation stone laying for drain reconstruction in Rohini Sector-22, part of a series of development projects in Bawana.
Efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure were also underscored, with the reopening of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya (Updesh Kaur) at Daryapur Kalan. The school, catering to students from Nursery to Class XII, is set to benefit 700–800 girl students directly, marking a crucial step towards their education, safety, and empowerment.
