The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning, cautioning about strong surface winds during the afternoon and evening, with humidity levels between 25% and 40%. People are advised to stay indoors during peak hours, stay hydrated, and protect themselves from direct sunlight.
Weather conditions are set to shift from May 28 onwards, with temperatures around 43 degrees Celsius and a forecast of thunderstorms with rain. The following day, a significant drop in temperatures is expected, with a high of 36 degrees Celsius and thunderstorms predicted. Lightning, squalls, and winds of 40-50 km/h are anticipated.
On May 30 and 31, thunderstorms with rain are projected to continue, with temperatures around 35-36 degrees Celsius. Although no specific warnings are issued, overcast skies and light rainfall are expected. By June 1, weather conditions are likely to normalize, with temperatures around 37 degrees Celsius and a partly cloudy sky.
Weather experts attribute recent weather phenomena to pre-monsoon activity, with thunderstorms, dust storms, and rain observed in North, Central, and East India. The upcoming rainfall around May 29 is categorized as pre-monsoon rain, offering relief from the scorching heat.
