The Police Station Mukherjee Nagar staff conducted a special operation targeting illegal immigrants and foreign nationals overstaying their visas. During the drive, five Bangladeshi men were captured for allegedly residing illegally in India after their visas had expired. Specific information about a minor altercation led to the apprehension of the suspects.
A police team, led by Inspector Rajeev Shah, was formed to verify the identity and residential status of the individuals. The investigation revealed that the Bangladeshi nationals had been staying in Delhi beyond their visa expiration, awaiting job opportunities in Greece. The group, including Rahmat Ullah, Mohd. Ashraful, Salman Bhuiyan, Md. Rashel, and Md. Rahim Mia, had been residing in Indira Vikas Colony, Mukherjee Nagar.
The individuals had initially stayed in hotels after arriving in India but later moved to the colony with the help of an associate, Ganpati Biswas. The police confirmed that the five men had violated visa regulations by overstaying in India. Efforts are underway to locate Biswas for further legal action, while the apprehended individuals have been presented before the Foreigners Regional Registration Office for deportation proceedings.
