In a significant move against drug trafficking, Delhi Police apprehended a 19-year-old carrying 3.423 kilograms of ganja near Bharthal Village Road. The arrest was part of a strategic operation to combat drug distribution in Dwarka’s local areas.
A dedicated team from the Sector-23 police station in Dwarka, led by ACP Kishor Kumar Rewala, conducted the operation. The team, comprising Head Constable Rajesh, Ct. Ram Kishan, HC Sher Singh, HC Vicky, and IO/SI Satpal Dagar, successfully executed the arrest.
The vigilant patrol by the officers led to the identification of a suspicious individual, Vipin Kumar, carrying a black backpack. Kumar, attempting to evade the police, was chased down and apprehended. Upon inspection of the backpack, police discovered a black polythene bag containing ganja, confirmed through testing to weigh 3 kilograms and 423 grams.
During interrogation, Vipin Kumar, hailing from Madhubani, Bihar, disclosed his intention to sell the ganja in Delhi after procuring it from a person named Priyam in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and investigations are ongoing to dismantle drug supply networks in the area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dwarka District, Kushal Pal Singh, praised the officers for their swift action, emphasizing the importance of intelligence-driven operations in maintaining public safety and disrupting illegal drug activities in the district.
