In a significant development, the Special Staff of Delhi Police has apprehended seven children involved in various cases of bike jacking, robbery, and theft. The police recovered three stolen motorcycles from the juveniles. The accused minors were actively engaged in snatching and stealing motorcycles in Dwarka and nearby areas.
The group’s motive was to sell the stolen bikes to fund a birthday celebration at a hill station. The case came to light after an incident on March 15 involving the robbery of a motorcycle and cash from a resident of Laxmi Vihar, Mohan Garden. An FIR was registered based on the complainant’s statement.
Responding promptly, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dwarka, Kushal Pal Singh, formed a specialized team under Inspector Kamlesh Kumar to investigate the matter. The team analyzed CCTV footage extensively and tracked the suspects’ movements through technical surveillance and local intelligence inputs.
Following the investigation, six juveniles were apprehended, and the stolen motorcycles were recovered. Another associate was detained later, leading to the recovery of an additional stolen motorcycle. The police have solved three cases with these arrests, recovering three motorcycles with different registration numbers.
Authorities are conducting further investigations to determine the full scope of the gang’s criminal activities and any potential links to other cases.
