Delhi Police have apprehended six individuals and retrieved 15 stolen two-wheelers in a series of operations targeting motor vehicle theft and habitual offenders. The coordinated efforts spanned various police stations within the Delhi Police West District, resulting in the resolution of 11 theft cases and the seizure of an illegal weapon.
The crackdown, aimed at auto-lifters and habitual criminals, was conducted using technical surveillance, secret information, and field intelligence. A total of six suspects were captured during the operations, leading to the recovery of 15 stolen two-wheelers and an illegal button-actuated knife.
One notable arrest involved Gurpreet Singh @ Lalli, a notorious auto-lifter, who was caught near M-Block Park, Najafgarh Road. Another operation led to the apprehension of Md. Saddam and Suraj near ESI Metro Station Parking, Rajouri Garden, with a stolen Honda Activa. Investigations revealed their association with a “Mewati gang” involved in vehicle theft.
The police efforts also resulted in the swift resolution of a motorcycle theft case by Police Station Mayapuri through CCTV analysis. Additionally, Police Post Madipur intercepted Rajeev Gupta near Jheel Park, recovering a stolen scooty and a button-actuated knife. The overall operation concluded with the arrest of six suspects, the retrieval of 11 motorcycles and four scooties, and the registration of an Arms Act case.
