The Delhi Police recently apprehended three individuals, resolving two robbery attempts and three other criminal cases. The arrests followed a thorough investigation that analyzed over 100 CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the incidents. The arrested individuals are Sher Singh from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Harmendra and Manjeet from Udaipur, Rajasthan.
The police recovered a stolen motorcycle, cash amounting to Rs 28,150, stolen jewelry, and a knife allegedly used in the crimes. The incidents came to light on January 26 when a PCR call reported a robbery attempt near Anant Ram Dairy in Sector-13, R.K. Puram. The suspects threatened the victim with a knife before fleeing the scene.
A specialized police team, led by Inspector Atul Tyagi and supervised by the ACP Safdarjung Enclave, was formed to address the case’s severity. The team’s diligent efforts, including fieldwork, local intelligence gathering, and CCTV footage analysis, led to the identification and arrest of the three accused individuals.
During interrogation, Manjeet revealed that he works as a key maker and frequently visits Delhi for religious purposes. He, along with Sher Singh and Harmendra, planned the robberies due to financial constraints caused by their addiction to intoxicants and liquor. The trio stole a motorcycle, committed house thefts, and attempted robberies in various locations before being apprehended in Netaji Nagar and Sarojini Nagar.
Police records indicate that Sher Singh has been involved in three criminal cases, Manjeet in six cases, and Harmendra in two cases. The arrests have helped solve a total of five cases across different police stations in Delhi. Further investigations are ongoing.
