In a successful operation against motor vehicle theft, Delhi Police’s Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) apprehended two active auto-lifters and recovered four stolen vehicles. The arrests and vehicle recoveries resulted in the resolution of four Motor Vehicle Theft (MVT) cases in the district. Acting on specific information on June 22, the AATS team set up a trap near Government Boys Senior Secondary School in Ghonda and intercepted two individuals on a motorcycle who failed to produce ownership documents for the vehicle.
One of the accused, identified as 19-year-old Kaif from North Ghonda, and the second accused, 21-year-old Saad from Maujpur, were found to be involved in other vehicle theft cases during interrogation. As a result, three more stolen scooters were located at different spots based on their disclosures. The recovered vehicles were associated with cases reported at Jafrabad, New Usmanpur, and Nand Nagri police stations, leading to the resolution of four motor vehicle theft cases.
Following the arrests and recovery of the stolen two-wheelers, police have successfully closed four motor vehicle theft cases. Legal proceedings under Section 35.1(e)/106 BNSS were initiated at Bhajanpura Police Station, with ongoing investigations to determine the potential involvement of the accused in additional similar cases. In a separate incident last week, the Crack Team of Anand Vihar Police Station in Shahdara district arrested two suspected snatchers and auto-lifters, seizing two stolen two-wheelers from their possession.
