The Delhi Police apprehended two individuals involved in an online illicit liquor delivery scheme in West Delhi. Sameer Paliwal, 19, from Prem Nagar, Delhi, and Pushpender, 22, from Bahadurgarh, Haryana, were arrested. The police seized 800 quarters of illicit liquor and a three-wheeler tempo used for transportation.
The operation began on April 5 based on specific intelligence received by Head Constable Rakesh about the illicit liquor transportation from Haryana to Delhi through online delivery services near Peeragarhi Chowk. A team led by Inspector Rajpal from Paschim Vihar East police station, with the supervision of ACP Rajbir Singh Lamba, successfully carried out the operation.
During surveillance at Peeragarhi Chowk, the police intercepted a suspicious three-wheeler tempo attempting to flee upon noticing the authorities. The driver, Pushpender, was apprehended, and upon inspection, the vehicle was found loaded with 800 quarters of illicit liquor labeled “For Sale in Haryana Only.” A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Delhi Excise Act.
Further investigation revealed that Sameer Paliwal had booked the consignment online for delivery to local bootleggers in Delhi. Both the driver and the individual who booked the consignment have been arrested, and the three-wheeler used in the operation has been confiscated. The police confirmed the recovery of 800 quarters of illicit liquor and one transport vehicle, with ongoing investigations in progress.
