Delhi Police Crime Branch apprehended two individuals, Sandeep alias Daagu Maharaj, 40, and Deepak, 32, from Haryana’s Sonipat, in relation to a sensational attempt-to-murder case linked to a violent property dispute in Alipur. Sandeep is known to be associated with the late gangster Tillu Tajpuria’s gang. The arrests were made by the NR-II Unit of the Crime Branch after extensive surveillance and intelligence operations.
During the operation, law enforcement recovered an illegal semi-automatic pistol loaded with four live cartridges, along with four additional live cartridges and a black SUV allegedly used by the suspects. The arrests are connected to FIR No. 589/2025 registered at Alipur Police Station concerning an alleged attempt to seize a disputed plot in Village Ramjanpur on October 30, 2025.
Around 30 to 45 armed individuals reportedly gathered at the disputed property with the aim of unlawfully taking possession of the land. The assailants allegedly fired nearly 12 rounds, tried to break the plot’s lock, and assaulted several people with sticks, causing panic in the area. A case was filed under various legal provisions, and an investigation was initiated.
A special team, led by Inspector Pradeep Singh and supervised by ACP Girish Kaushik, was formed to track down the culprits. Head Constable Tomar provided crucial intelligence leading to the apprehension of Sandeep and Deepak. Sandeep, a former criminal with a history of serious offenses, revealed details during interrogation, including his association with gangster Tillu Tajpuria.
