Delhi Police have apprehended another individual in relation to the violence that occurred during a municipal corporation’s demolition near the Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque in the Turkman Gate area of New Delhi. The arrested person, identified as Mohammad Imran, also known as Raju, aged 36, brings the total number of detainees in this case to 12.
Authorities reported that approximately 30 individuals involved in the violence were identified through CCTV footage, body-worn camera recordings of police officers, and viral social media videos. The police are set to summon Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Mohibbullah Nadvi for questioning, as he was allegedly present at the site before the outbreak of violence.
In a separate development, Delhi Police are actively searching for YouTuber Salman regarding the case and are preparing to issue a notice to him. Salman is accused of attempting to disrupt public order through social media by urging residents to gather at the demolition site. Investigations have uncovered that influential figures in the area utilized WhatsApp groups to incite residents to assemble at the location, aiming to disrupt the civic authorities’ work during the demolition operation.
