Law enforcement agencies have heightened surveillance to combat organized crime and capture hardened criminals. A special campaign is underway to locate notorious offenders involved in serious crimes. Intelligence networks, along with technical surveillance, are being utilized to gather information on criminal movements.
On May 5, specific intelligence led to the apprehension of accused Rakesh alias Tinku, an active member of the Jyoti Baba Gang. He was wanted in a case registered at Hari Nagar Police Station under various sections of the IPC. A police team, under Inspector Pankaj Thakran, successfully trapped and arrested Rakesh, who attempted to escape but was subdued.
Rakesh, identified as a 32-year-old resident of Delhi’s Najafgarh, has a criminal history involving violent crimes. He was implicated in the murder of Ram Niwas in Tihar Jail due to past enmity. Rakesh, previously a Class 12 student, spiraled into criminal activities during his teenage years. He later joined the Jyoti Baba Gang, engaging in offenses like murder, assault, and illegal arms possession.
