The Delhi Police Crime Branch uncovered two illegal factories in northeast Delhi involved in manufacturing and packaging counterfeit UltraTech Cement. The operation led to the seizure of a significant amount of fake cement bags, adulterated materials, and machinery. One individual, identified as Rizwan, was apprehended during the raids.
According to the Crime Branch’s press release, the accused were allegedly producing duplicate cement by crushing damaged cement and blending it with clinker material. The final product was then packaged in counterfeit UltraTech-branded bags for distribution in the market.
The police action was initiated following a complaint from UltraTech Cement Ltd.’s authorized representative, Kamal Singh. The complaint highlighted the large-scale production of fake cement using counterfeit packaging materials during night hours.
A special team, led by Inspector Sunil Kundu and supervised by ACP Narender Singh, conducted the raids at Mandoli Industrial Area and Jawahar Nagar Industrial Area. The team’s efforts resulted in the discovery of the illegal manufacturing units and the arrest of Rizwan.
During the raids, the police seized a substantial number of empty and filled counterfeit UltraTech cement bags, damaged cement bags, clinker material, and loose, adulterated cement. Both factory premises have been sealed by the authorities, and legal action has been initiated.
The arrested individual, Rizwan, hailing from Amroha district in Uttar Pradesh, was reportedly working as a supervisor at the illegal units. An FIR has been lodged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Copyright Act at the Crime Branch police station. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the masterminds behind the illicit operation.
