The Delhi Police’s Special Cell uncovered a significant terror module associated with the Dawood Ibrahim syndicate. The module, aimed at orchestrating attacks in Delhi and Mumbai, was exposed following the apprehension of eight individuals. It was disclosed during interrogation that Clifton Road in Karachi serves as a secure hideout for the notorious underworld figure, Dawood Ibrahim.
The arrested individuals revealed that they primarily communicated with Dawood Ibrahim’s key aide, Muddasar Hussain Sayyed, also known as Munna Jhingada. Authorities emphasized that the fact that the operation was coordinated from the Clifton Road area indicates Dawood Ibrahim’s presence in that location.
Reportedly, Dawood Ibrahim maintains five addresses in Karachi, with Clifton being his primary residence near the Saudi Mosque. The investigation into the recent module bust unveiled that all of Dawood’s close associates reside in proximity to him, overseeing drug operations and terror activities from the Clifton area.
Following ‘Operation Sindoor,’ there were speculations about Dawood Ibrahim relocating. However, intelligence sources confirmed his return to the Clifton address after a brief period of moving between his five addresses to evade detection. The strategic and secure nature of the location is attributed to the oversight provided by the ISI’s regional directorate in Karachi.
The probe also exposed the involvement of several ISI officials in the planning process, coordinating with Jhingada and issuing directives for attacks in India. The primary targets identified by the module were Delhi and Mumbai, with plans to expand to other cities based on the initial wave of attacks. The command center established near Dawood’s residence was closely monitored by ISI officials, ensuring operational success and security.
The accused individuals disclosed that Jhingada and his associates meticulously oversaw all aspects, from recruitment to arms procurement, with the Dawood Syndicate allocating Rs 20 lakh for the project upon completion. The operation, characterized as a targeted mission orchestrated by the ISI, involved the safe transportation of weapons into India, including hand grenades dropped off in Gurdaspur, Punjab.
The Delhi Police’s seizure of a substantial weapons cache and hand grenades aimed at strategic locations highlighted the operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the plan. The accused individuals inquired about their exit strategy post-attacks, with Jhingada guaranteeing a safe passage to Nepal and onward to Dubai for the operatives.
