In a significant move against narcotics trafficking, the Inter-State Cell (ISC) of the Crime Branch, Delhi Police, has disrupted an interstate drug syndicate operating from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The operation resulted in the confiscation of around 0.5 kg of high-quality cocaine valued at approximately Rs 5 crore, intended for distribution in Delhi and the NCR region. The breakthrough follows the apprehension of a suspect, Javed Hussain, in possession of 456 grams of cocaine in Delhi on April 10.
Hussain, a resident of Bareilly, disclosed during interrogation that the contraband was procured from Soib Khan, another individual in Bareilly. Subsequently, a raid was conducted on April 22, leading to the arrest of Soib Khan, who was believed to be part of a larger drug distribution network supplying narcotics to Delhi and nearby areas. The operation, led by Inspector Satendra Khari under ACP Ramesh Lamba’s supervision, is being hailed as a significant success against interstate drug trafficking.
Both accused, Javed Hussain and Soib Khan, reportedly have no criminal records. Hussain, employed at a jeans factory in North-East Delhi, and Khan, who is unemployed, are currently under police custody. Further investigations are ongoing, with additional raids planned to apprehend other syndicate members and seize more illegal substances. Delhi Police remains committed to dismantling organized drug networks and curbing drug supply in the city and its surrounding regions.
