The Delhi Police Crime Branch uncovered an organised MDMA (Ecstasy) supply network in South Delhi, detaining two individuals and confiscating a significant amount of narcotics. During the operation, authorities seized 19.15 grams of MDMA, including Ecstasy pills and crystals. The arrested individuals were caught before they could escape, revealing a covert system that utilized taxis and concealed packaging for drug distribution.
In a bid to combat drug-related activities nationwide, the Central Range of the Crime Branch has been actively targeting drug offenders. Acting on credible information, a team led by Inspector Vinay Kumar conducted a raid in the Hargovind Enclave area of Chhattarpur. The operation resulted in the arrest of Deepak Kumar, who was found in possession of 25 Ecstasy pills and MDMA crystals, indicating an organized drug trafficking scheme.
Deepak Kumar, upon interrogation, disclosed his role as a carrier for a supplier, leading to the identification and apprehension of the main conspirator, Md. Farhan alias Sunny. Farhan, along with Deepak, operated discreetly by frequently changing communication devices and locations to avoid detection. The police discovered that Farhan managed a delivery-based drug distribution network, using his car as a cover for drug transportation during nighttime.
Farhan, the alleged mastermind, employed cab drivers as carriers for delivering narcotics, concealing the contraband in Maggi packets to evade scrutiny. Investigations unveiled that he sourced MDMA from an African national, with efforts underway to capture the supplier. Further searches at Farhan’s rented premises in Saket led to the recovery of an additional 4.2 grams of MDMA, bringing the total seizure to 19.15 grams.
A case under Sections 22, 25, and 29 of the NDPS Act has been filed at the Crime Branch police station, with ongoing investigations to trace the source, financial transactions, and the broader network. The police anticipate more arrests and seizures in the future as the probe progresses.
