The ER-II unit of Delhi Police Crime Branch achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending Majahar Khan, a proclaimed offender and alleged serial property fraudster. Khan, a qualified BDS and MDS doctor known as “Dr. Sahab” in Yamuna Vihar, North-East Delhi, had been evading authorities for seven months. He was accused of cheating multiple victims of over Rs 1 crore through fraudulent property dealings.
According to the Crime Branch, Khan was part of a large-scale property fraud scheme where he used the same property in C-11/17, Yamuna Vihar, Delhi, as security to deceive multiple individuals. Exploiting his professional image as a dental practitioner, he gained the trust of people and misrepresented the property’s ownership and mortgage status. This led to financial losses exceeding Rs 1 crore for the victims.
A dedicated team led by Inspector Sunil Kundu, along with Head Constables Mohit Choudhary, Prince Tomar, and Vikas, under ACP Narender Singh’s supervision, successfully tracked down Khan. After thorough technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, the accused was arrested near Dehradun at Ganeshpur Toll Plaza in Uttar Pradesh.
The arrest has brought progress in various criminal cases against Khan, including multiple FIRs under Sections 318(4), 3(5), and 316 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Additionally, two Non-Cognizable Reports related to criminal intimidation are associated with him. Police also seized a car during the operation.
Investigators disclosed that Khan, who completed his BDS and MDS degrees from Uttar Pradesh and Jaipur, respectively, transitioned from dentistry to property dealings in Yamuna Vihar. By leveraging his educational background and professional reputation, he allegedly orchestrated fraudulent property transactions. Khan was arrested by the Crime Branch under Section 35.1(d) of the BNSS and presented before the court following legal procedures and intimation to PS Bhajanpura.
