The Delhi Police Crime Branch has submitted a charge sheet against Manoj Yadav, also known as Kaira, a significant figure in the criminal network led by fugitive gangster Kapil Sangwan, alias Nandu. This move is part of a focused effort to combat organized crime and gang activities in Delhi and nearby regions. The charge sheet follows a thorough investigation by the Anti-Gang Squad (AGS) of the Crime Branch, overseen by Deputy Commissioner of Police Harsh Indora under Additional Commissioner of Police Mangesh Kashyap’s guidance.
Manoj Yadav was taken into custody on October 7, 2025, concerning FIR No. 165/24 filed at the Crime Branch police station. Presently, he is in judicial custody under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime (MCOC) Act. Authorities revealed that Yadav held a close association with Kapil Sangwan and played a pivotal role in the gang’s activities involving extortion and violence.
Investigators disclosed that Yadav provided critical information about businessmen and property dealers to the syndicate, aiding in extortion and intimidation efforts. Additionally, he facilitated the procurement and delivery of illegal firearms to individuals carrying out targeted attacks and homicides. The Kapil Sangwan syndicate, as per police reports, has transitioned from earlier activities like revenge killings and armed robberies to a sophisticated criminal network engaged in extortion, contract killings, and targeted shootings in recent years.
The gang allegedly amassed substantial illicit wealth through extortion schemes, coercive land dispute resolutions, and by maintaining a network of shooters, logistical support, and secure hideouts. Yadav, previously known for criminal activities in the Jafarpur police station area, initially engaged in bootlegging in Najafgarh before aligning with the gang to assert dominance. He has a history of involvement in seven prior criminal cases, including charges related to murder and bootlegging.
Yadav’s connections extend to various incidents, such as a Gurugram land dispute intimidation case, a murder case in Paschim Vihar East where he supplied weapons to shooters, and an extortion case in Najafgarh. DCP Harsh Indora mentioned that the investigation is ongoing to apprehend other syndicate members.
