Delhi Police Special Cell captured a notorious gangster named Jagdish from West Bengal’s Malda district after a lengthy inter-state pursuit. Jagdish, a key member of the Harry Boxer gang, is wanted for multiple firing and extortion incidents in the Delhi-NCR region. This arrest is seen as a significant breakthrough in combating organized crime in the capital.
Recently, the Delhi Police arrested three suspected shooters associated with the Harry Boxer gang, preventing an extortion attempt on city businessmen. The crackdown also led to the seizure of three illegal pistols, including a 9-mm calibre and a Beretta, along with 26 live cartridges. Both Jagdish and his associate Vikas were implicated in two extortion cases in Delhi, involving threats and acts of violence against the victims.
Jagdish, a new recruit in the gang, was enticed by the gangster lifestyle, while Vikas, another Delhi resident, resorted to robbery and murder threats to gain influence within the gang. The police used extensive human surveillance to apprehend Jagdish, who was hiding in a large mango orchard in Malda district. The arrest of Jagdish follows the recent capture of Vikas, highlighting the authorities’ efforts to dismantle criminal activities in the region.
