In 2025, Delhi Police achieved a significant milestone by tracing a total of 1,303 missing individuals, comprising 434 minors and 869 adults. The South-West District Police accomplished this through ‘Operation Milap,’ a dedicated effort to locate missing persons and reunite them with their families. During December alone, the police successfully located 102 missing individuals, which included 35 children and 67 adults, through well-coordinated search operations.
According to Amit Goel, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-West District, the police teams worked tirelessly to reunite 35 missing or kidnapped children and 67 adults with their families. Immediate action was taken upon receiving reports of missing individuals, with local police stations promptly initiating search operations. The police heavily relied on local intelligence, field inquiries, and CCTV footage analysis from nearby areas to trace missing individuals.
The police also circulated photographs of missing persons and suspects at public places like auto-rickshaw stands, bus terminals, and railway stations. They engaged with bus drivers, conductors, vendors, and shopkeepers to gather information on the movement of missing individuals. Local informers were enlisted to aid in search operations, and records of nearby police stations and hospitals were thoroughly examined for leads. These combined efforts were instrumental in successfully locating the missing individuals.
The South-West District Police’s swift, coordinated, and well-planned actions led to the successful tracing of 102 missing persons and children in December. Various police stations, including Kapashera, Palam Village, Vasant Kunj North, Sagarpur, Kishangarh, Vasant Kunj South, R.K. Puram, Vasant Vihar, Sarojini Nagar, S.J. Enclave, South Campus, and Delhi Cantt., reported successful operations in locating missing individuals and reuniting them with their families.
