Delhi Police creatively incorporated veteran actor Rakesh Bedi’s character, Jameel Jamali, to convey a light-hearted yet important safety reminder. They shared a cartoon-style safety poster on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), featuring Jameel Jamali holding a black motorcycle helmet. The poster included a humorous text overlay with the famous line “bachcha hai tu mera” from Aditya Dhar’s duology.
Blending humor with awareness, the department’s caption emphasized the significance of wearing a helmet for safety. Jameel Jamali, a character known for his manipulative nature, is a Pakistani politician from Karachi’s Lyari. The character, portrayed by Rakesh Bedi, surprises as an Indian intelligence asset in the film series.
The film “Dhurandhar,” part of a duology released in 2025, stars renowned actors like Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt. It revolves around a covert counter-terrorism mission where an Indian intelligence agent infiltrates Karachi’s criminal networks to thwart a terror plot targeting India. The recently released sequel, “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” continues the agent’s mission amidst larger threats and real-life geopolitical inspirations.
Rakesh Bedi, with a career spanning over 150 films since the 1970s, is celebrated for his comic roles in movies like “Chashme Buddoor” and TV shows such as “Shrimaan Shrimati” and “Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain.”
