The Delhi Pro Volleyball League (DPVL) is committed to prioritizing players, aiming to provide them with opportunities for professional growth, financial stability, and long-term recognition. Launched in January this year, DPVL seeks to establish a structured and sustainable platform for volleyball talent in Delhi, supported by the Delhi Volleyball Association and the Delhi Olympic Association. Notably, the league is spearheaded by former volleyball players Neeti Rawat and Jasoda Gulliya, who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the initiative.
Neeti Rawat, known for her sports broadcasting and media background, is expected to enhance volleyball’s visibility in India through her storytelling skills and understanding of commercial aspects. Jasoda Gulliya, with a finance and strategic planning background, contributes to building robust business models for the league. Both founders, drawing from their on-court experience, aim to revolutionize the perception and experience of volleyball in the country.
DPVL is envisioned as a transformative movement in Indian volleyball, focusing on not just the game itself but also on creating avenues for players to grow professionally, achieve financial stability, and gain recognition. The league aims to establish a comprehensive ecosystem that includes player development pathways, professional training setups, competitive exposure, and increased media visibility. Moreover, DPVL is set to debut in 2026 with a format featuring six franchise teams, aiming to elevate the standard of volleyball in India through structured and high-quality matches.
