Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta urged residents in Rohini to join in environmental conservation efforts by actively participating in a plantation drive. Gupta set a target of planting 10,000 trees in the constituency, emphasizing the importance of nurturing each sapling into a mature tree. He made these remarks during various community events held at Maharana Pratap Community Centre in Rohini.
Gupta also engaged in discussions with Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena during a recent visit to the Union Territory. The meeting focused on governance, development, and environmental challenges in the region. The Lieutenant Governor shared updates on Ladakh’s progress, including the expansion of districts to seven for improved administration and development.
During the interaction, Gupta highlighted the Delhi Legislative Assembly’s initiatives in digital governance and environmental sustainability. He mentioned the successful implementation of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) to reduce paper consumption and enhance legislative efficiency. Gupta also noted the Assembly’s adoption of a 500 kW solar power system, leading to significant electricity savings.
