On New Year’s eve, the Delhi Traffic Police will implement traffic restrictions in Connaught Place to facilitate smooth celebrations. Vehicular traffic will be prohibited in the inner, middle, and outer circles of Connaught Place from 7 p.m. onwards. Additionally, heavy pedestrian movement around India Gate may lead to restrictions on vehicles passing through C-Hexagon.

The traffic police have also arranged special measures to handle the influx of devotees visiting Shri Mata Jhandewalan Mandir on New Year’s Day. Commuters are advised to avoid Rani Jhansi Road during peak hours to ease traffic congestion. In the Connaught Place area, specific entry points will be closed for vehicles starting from 7 p.m. on Wednesday to manage traffic flow effectively.

For those planning to visit India Gate for New Year celebrations, the traffic police recommend using public transport due to limited parking availability. To prevent congestion on Mathura Road near Delhi Zoo, motorists are advised to steer clear of Bhairon Road/Mathura Road between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Pragati Maidan. Cooperation from commuters is requested to minimize traffic disruptions during this period.

While the traffic restrictions may not affect movement towards the Old Railway Station, alternative routes have been suggested for accessing New Delhi Railway Station after 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Various routes have been outlined for reaching the railway station from different directions, emphasizing the need for careful travel planning during this time.
