Addya Katyal from Delhi showcased a composed performance to secure the Junior Women’s Trap title at the ongoing 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions. She claimed the top spot with 42 hits, outperforming Uttar Pradesh’s Sabeera Haris who settled for silver with 41 hits. Tanisska Senthilkumar from Tamil Nadu secured the bronze with 28 hits.
In the qualification round, Addya led with an impressive 112 hits, maintaining her strong form into the final. Bhavya Tripathi from Delhi took the second spot in qualification but finished sixth in the final with 11 hits. Tanisska qualified third, followed by Darshna Rathore from Rajasthan, Sabeera Haris, and Ananya Yaduvanshi from Delhi, completing the top six advancing to the medal round.
During the final, Addya displayed consistency under pressure, securing the gold by pulling away in crucial stages. Sabeera posed a strong challenge and stayed close until the closing series, finishing just one hit behind. Tanisska held steady in the middle phase to secure third place, while Darshna Rathore finished fourth and Ananya Yaduvanshi fifth.
Delhi clinched the Junior Women’s Trap team gold with a combined score of 323, thanks to the contributions of Addya Katyal, Bhavya Tripathi, and Ananya Yaduvanshi. Tamil Nadu secured the second spot with 295 points, represented by Tanisska Senthilkumar, Nilaa Rajaa Baalu, and Anthra Rajsekar. Rajasthan took the third position with a total of 274, with Darshna Rathore, Maitreyi Singh, and Mahika Kitawat.
The 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions will continue into the new year, with the 10m Air Rifle Women finals scheduled for January 2, 2026, at the MP State Shooting Academy in Bhopal, and the Trap Men final on the same day at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi.
