The Delhi government’s Indira Gandhi Hospital (IGH) in Dwarka has enhanced its dialysis services and critical facilities, as announced by Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh. This move aligns with the government’s goal of providing accessible, timely, and quality healthcare to all citizens. The hospital has increased its dialysis beds and machines from 35 to 50, aiming to reduce patient burden and ensure prompt care.
The expansion at IGH Dwarka includes improvements in dialysis, radiology, OT services, and the establishment of specialized facilities like the Brain Health Clinic. Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh emphasized the focus on compassionate, comprehensive, and outcome-oriented treatment for Delhi residents. This enhancement is anticipated to decrease waiting times for patients and enhance renal care services.
To enhance diagnostic capabilities, a 500 mA X-Ray machine has been introduced in the Radiology Department to cater to emergency and trauma cases effectively. The extended Operation Theatre (OT) services from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. will enhance surgical preparedness, offering more surgical interventions and better outcomes for patients. Additionally, the hospital has collaborated with AIIMS Corneal Retrieval Centre to initiate corneal retrieval services, promoting eye donation and improving transplant services for visually impaired patients.
The Indira Gandhi Hospital has become a significant center for neurological and mental health services through its Brain Health Clinic. This clinic provides integrated care for neurological and psychiatric conditions, catering to a substantial number of patients daily. It offers comprehensive treatment and counseling for various disorders, ensuring patient-focused care under one roof. These developments underscore the Delhi government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and enhance specialized services across public hospitals.
